Erin Fisher Wright is a multifaceted musician and educator with a career spanning over three decades in the vibrant music scene of Houston, Texas. Born with an innate passion for music, Erin's journey began at the tender age of six when she was captivated by an Andre Previn concert on PBS, igniting her desire for piano lessons. However, it was a transformative moment watching Nancy Wilson of Heart wield her guitar on television that redirected her musical path towards the world of rock and roll. Transitioning to guitar lessons, Erin's musical horizons expanded exponentially when she was introduced to the works of jazz legends like Wes Montgomery, Larry Coryell, and Joe Pass. Her formal education in music took root at San Jacinto College, where she flourished under the tutelage of esteemed musicians, particularly Shelly Berg, whose mentorship propelled her into the professional realm of bass playing in just a year. As an educator, Erin's passion for sharing the magic of music led her to impart her knowledge and expertise to countless students. From teaching guitar lessons at her home from the age of sixteen to serving as adjunct faculty at esteemed institutions like the University of Houston Downtown and San Jacinto College, Erin's commitment to nurturing musical talent has left an indelible mark on her students. Throughout her illustrious career, Erin has graced stages alongside some of the most renowned names in the music industry. From sharing the spotlight with icons like Willie Nelson, Ray Charles, and Joe Henderson to performing with esteemed ensembles such as Ann Patterson's Maiden Voyage, Erin's versatility as a bassist and guitarist has earned her widespread acclaim. Erin's musical journey has been punctuated by memorable performances, including appearances in Duncan Sheik's "Noir" at the Alley Theater and a notable six-month stint as the bassist for "Always...Patsy Cline" at Stages Theater in 2023.
